You will find seed grown Origanum vulgare, oregano, in most Garden Centres, supplied by big herb wholesales, like Farplants, Quantil and Ball Colegrave. Golden oregano (golden marjoram), Greek oregano, 'Hot & Spicey' are also widely available from these larger producers. 'Gold Splash' and French have also been around for some time supplied by Farplants. (The large Garden Centre chains will have some/all of their herbs under their own brand which will probably be bought in small plug plants grown on in the own nursery. The source could therefore a long way away.)

Origanum onites, pot marjoram, can easily be mistaken for oregano, and is widely available from Farplants.

There are smaller wholesalers who cover much smaller areas, like Grown in Wales (Quinky Young Plants) who supply Wales and some border Garden Centres.

If you are lucky enough to live near a Herb Farm then the number of additional cultivars will increase, but it does depend on the Nursery. Those doing Mail Order has been steadily reducing over the years so it can be difficult to get what you want unless you like long road trips. See the list below for those that do Mail Order and those you will have to drive to.

Then there are general Plant Nurseries who sell one or a few Origanum species, or more likely hybrids with more showy flowers and less flavourfull foliage. You may find something rare special to them, but with less experience in this culinary herb please be aware that the chance of incorrect naming is greater, especially from seed grown plants given the tendency to promiscuity with these related plants.
